My name is Cherry, and I was born in Yangon, Myanmar. I have one brother and one sister. My parents are retired teachers from the government education sector, and their emphasis on education has encouraged me to value its importance throughout my life. They devoted their lives to shaping the futures of young students, including us.
Throughout my basic education, I earned recognition as an outstanding student, thanks to my parents’ guidance. Since they worked in the government sector, our family income was limited, making it difficult to afford private tutoring for all three of us. My parents taught us themselves until we graduated from high school. When I was preparing for my matriculation exam, my father retired to focus more on my education. With his help, I graduated with three distinctions out of six subjects.
After their retirement, our family started a small education service for young learners, and I helped run it before moving abroad for my bachelor’s degree. When I graduated from high school, my parents could barely afford a laptop, so I had no opportunity to learn about technology until university. I later enrolled at the University of Yangon, inspired by my sister who was already studying there.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when schools were closed, I finally had the chance to explore technology using my sister’s laptop. I began learning web development and graphic design, inspired by my love for drawing. I also volunteered for a free education initiative as both a graphic designer and classroom assistant, and took free language classes in German, Korean, and English. These experiences deepened my belief that education is one of the greatest gifts we can offer, and I became determined to help students in Myanmar access the quality education they deserve.

In 2023, I was given the opportunity to study Business Information Technology at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in Thailand. Among all my relatives, I am the only one who has entered the IT field. Adapting to a new country on my own was challenging, but I carried with me a deep passion to become the person my parents hoped I would grow into.
In my second year, I began an internship at a Thai company as a Data Analyst, applying academic knowledge in a real-world environment and supplementing my skills through free online courses. I am now in my third year, maintaining good grades and committed to continued growth.
As the only child in my family with the opportunity to study abroad, I want to be someone my parents can truly be proud of. After graduation, I hope to combine business and technology to create positive change, and to help other students in Myanmar who face limitations beyond their control find their own paths forward.
