My name is Coe. Life began simply for me in Paung, a small township in Mon State, Myanmar. Growing up in a modest family of four — my mother, grandmother, younger sister, and I — was challenging but filled with love and determination.
I completed my early education in Paung’s primary school before our family moved to Mawlamyine, which became our new home. My education took me across three townships within Mon State, and despite the constant moves, I graduated from No. 1 Basic Education High School in Mudon. My mother, a strong and resourceful woman, worked tirelessly to provide for us in the absence of my father, making countless sacrifices to give us a chance at a better future.
After high school, I attended Dawei Technological University for two years, dreaming of completing my degree and building a stable career. Due to instability in our country, I had to pause my education and find work to support my family. It was a difficult time, but my mother’s unwavering support kept us going.
Even amidst these challenges, my mother dreamed of me studying abroad. With her hard-earned savings, she encouraged me to apply to Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand. I hesitated at first, knowing the cost involved. But as the eldest daughter, I realized that a degree abroad could help us overcome our financial struggles, and I decided to apply.
My younger sister chose to help by working at our aunt’s shop, taking on that responsibility with great maturity. The devaluation of Myanmar’s currency made things even harder, and my mother’s savings quickly dwindled.

One evening, my mother and I discussed our future. She said, “Coe, education is our way out. You have the potential to achieve great things and support our family. We will find a way together.” Her words inspired me to pursue a loan. With a heavy heart, I began writing my application, hoping to convey our struggles and our determination.
This journey is not just about me; it’s about my family’s resilience and our shared dream for a better future. With the support of a loan, I can complete my degree, secure stable work, and ease the burdens that have weighed us down for so long. I am not just asking for financial help; I am asking for a chance to fulfill my potential and repay the sacrifices my mother and sister have made.
