My name is Theint. I believe ambition stems from interests, and my passion for electrical engineering is rooted in my childhood experiences.
Many areas of our country still lack electricity and are lagging behind other developing nations economically. During my childhood, electricity was inefficiently supplied not only in rural areas but also in large cities.
We often relied on private electricity known as “100 kyats electricity” in my town, which involved distributing power through generators for limited periods. While this provided some light, it was insufficient for cooking or watching television.
As a child, I dreamed of being someone who could supply sufficient electrical power to my neighbors and my town. Over the years, it became clear that I was deeply interested in engineering, and I aspired to become an electrical engineer.

I dedicated much of my time to my hobbies and interests. During the pandemic, I volunteered as a teacher for the Run Free organization, which offers free education to children. This experience improved my volunteering and communication skills, as I had to interact with other members. I also served as a group leader for various projects and presentations, which enhanced my leadership and problem-solving abilities—essential traits for an engineer.
When I researched technological universities in Thailand, I discovered that KMUTNB offers opportunities for outstanding students through a tuition waiver scholarship. This became a fantastic opportunity for me to study internationally. I applied for the scholarship and was fortunate to be selected among many candidates. After graduating from KMUTNB, I plan to return to Myanmar to pursue my goal of becoming an electrical engineer, as I believe it is my responsibility to contribute to my community with the knowledge and skills I acquire abroad.
During my time as an undergraduate student in Thailand, I witnessed significant advancements in the country’s economy, transportation, and education sectors. The BTS Skytrain, the first electric mass transit railway system, impressed me the most among their innovations. Experiencing this system firsthand inspired me to develop electric transportation systems and infrastructure in my local community. I learned that a plan for a rapid transit system in Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city, was proposed before the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was not realized due to the pandemic and other challenges.
In the future, I aim to innovate and launch similar projects in collaboration with other engineers. Therefore, I am genuinely committed to pursuing my degree and will strive to become a qualified electrical engineer, dedicating my efforts to benefit my country, Myanmar.
