My name is Thae. Since I was younger, I have loved mathematics and other scientific subjects and have always wanted to become an engineer.
As I am the only child of my parents and they believe in me no matter what, they have been supporting me to fulfill my dream as much as they can.
To my parents’ happiness and my own relief, I was able to get into King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in Thailand to complete a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering with a full tuition waiver.
With a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like this, I hope to be able to pursue my life-long dream of becoming an engineer. It will not only make my parents proud but also bring the benefits to my country.
During my university time in Myanmar, I did very well in exams related to mechatronics and was able to perform well in both individual and group projects. Thus, one of my professors suggested that I learn more about mechatronics and focus on related subjects.
Learning about mechatronics engineering and keeping up with the latest developments in the field has become my passion. During my third year, I had to lead a team of five in designing and implementing a project called “A Clap Switch”. Furthermore, I was involved in several other group projects where I was able to showcase my background knowledge and skills related to mechatronics engineering.
Due to my strong performances in individual and group projects, I, along with other serious students, was offered an opportunity to visit a cement factory in Mandalay Division. My university time in Myanmar helped me improve both academically and personally.
